Kinetic Novels and strictly Linear or One-Route-Only VNs do not count for the purposes of this description. More than one route/ending isn’t absolutely necessary, but please weigh it against the amount of player choices in the game. Tax Heaven 3000 appears to play like a standard dating sim, but you have to put your Social Security Number in, sharply increasing the player’s level of trust in the lovely Iris. A new war is brewing and it looks as if Mara could be the means of peace./p
pTax Heaven 3000 is designed to prepare 2022 US federal income tax returns for single filers without dependents, the still-extant Itch.io page says. The dating sim section really only feels like an extended prologue at this point, to introduce you to all these characters that you slowly become attached to — and then it proceeds to tear apart everything you have ever loved. The dialogue is written and presented in such a slyly tongue-in-cheek way, you can enjoy the gameplay, the girls, and the plot while still laughing good-naturedly at yourself and your bumbling character all the way through. This isn’t to say thatNameless is free of all the dark twistiness that is almost a staple at this point of visual novels./p

Where Nekojishi has you dating buff anthropomorphic cat spirits, Purrfect Date lets you take your best shot at wooing an island inhabited by actual cats. Playing as a professor’s apprentice, you find yourself in the middle of an island mystery that can only be unraveled by romancing the various cat characters. Ever wanted to know what the cross between a tycoon simulator and a dating sim would be like?/p
pThe Persona franchise is well-beloved, and after the incredible success with Persona 5, we’re eagerly awaiting to see what Atlus does with Persona 6. With that said, you could look at Persona 4 Golden if you haven’t played the installment yet. There were quite a few additions made to this game if you enjoyed the original installment on the PlayStation 2./p
pIt’s lucky that Orion is chock-full of personality, because your character is unfortunately something of an empty box of a Bella Swan. Story-wise, it’s a side effect of getting her memories and her personality knocked right out of her, but she’s incredibly passive in many of her interactions with all the pretty boys… Sometimes a little too much so, especially considering how many dark turns this story can take. After all, it’s hard to deny that the process is time-consuming at best, since it means translating a novel-sized amount of dialogue … And all of that has to happen after a company casts the eye of judgment on the market it’s selling to./p
